Sources close to President Koroma have now intimated this medium that President Koroma has “absolutely no intention” of naming his current Chief of Staff, Keifala Marah to be his running-mate for the November 2012 Elections. The very thought of Marah as running-mate was heartily laughed off by our very capable sources who assured that though Marah was seen as a highly trusted technocrat by the President, “Marah is certainly not seen as a politician by the President”.

Despite all their Protestations Otherwise... SLPP Deep in Kidnapping & Lawless Mess
Sierra Leone People Party’s members, including Councillor-Elect Kanu-Mansaray, have yesterday January 31st 2012, appeared in court charged with Kidnapping, Wounding with Intent, Unlawful Detention and Conspiracy to commit a Felony concerning their actions towards a young man named Mohamed Koroma in Moyamba. All of them were remanded at the Pademba Road prisons until the adjourned date of this Friday February 3rd 2012. They were defended by SLPP’s Legal Team led by SLPP Sec-Gen Sulaiman Banja Tejansie. Apart from being defended by the SLPP Legal Team, a recent piece by Kalilu Totangi and published on SLPP’s website, sought to justify a matter that has now been charged to court under serious crimes sections of Sierra Leone’s penal code. Totangi’s justification for kidnapping and lawlessness, has left many local and international observers with the impression that despite their protestations otherwise, the SLPP believes in promoting acts of lawlessness in the country. A commentary on this ongoing lawlessness and kidnapping saga involving the SLPP; with an insightful look at SLPP and Totangi’s explanations for the kidnapping and lawlessness is published today.

SLPP’s Fourah Bay Councillor in Kidnap & Ritual Murder Allegations
The Fourah Bay Community of Freetown is currently in a state of shock at the disgrace which has befallen their community with the detention of their newly elected local councillor Mohamed Kanu-Mansaray on allegations of kidnapping and wounding with intent amongst other serious criminal allegations. Meanwhile, senior officials of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) to which Kanu-Mansaray belongs, have been spending the last 48 hours trying to ward off widespread allegations that the councillor and five other stakeholders within the SLPP had been intercepted in a green jeep with a kidnap victim supposedly meant for offering as human ritual sacrifice. It is a fact that in some parts of Sierra Leone, they still believe in the ability of such satanic voodoo and juju rituals as a means to attaining political power.

As Mohamed Bangura Fires at PPRC, APC & SLPP, Observers say UDM Don Turn Geh - Geh Na Throat
In the local Creole parlance, a troublesome goitre swelling of the throat is known as a Geh-Geh and when someone becomes troublesome in a spectre of events, such a person is termed as being a “Geh-Geh Na Throat”. The United Democratic Movement (UDM) party which many had wrongly alleged to be a creation of the APC is proving it is not only standing independent of APC but that it possesses the ability to lash at the APC and even lash at Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) which regulates its existence.

Opposition SLPP Chairman for Constituency 104 is in a "Coma"
Please click above link to watch the opposition SLPP Aziz Carew lying down supposedly in a "Coma" which comatose state is yet to be confirmed by a qualified independent doctor. The state of "coma", his SLPP members say, follows a “massive beating” & “brutal torture” lasting "several hours" but a close look at the photo reveals there are no physical signs of any injury or blood on his half-naked body. The photo was released by SLPP yesterday. Its credibility cannot be ascertained. There are suspicions the entire incident at Aziz’s house where he supposedly staged a “resistance” to a night-time arrest by police whilst at the same time holding a press conference with the arresting officers in his parlour, could have been a ploy between SLPP and some certain Police officers.

Sierra Leone Ruling Party Makes Statement on Fourah Bay Elections Violence
...We are also calling on the international community to pay special attention to these ugly and undemocratic developments. We note with dismay the silence of civil society groups, including the National Elections Watch, the 50-50 group, and the All Political Parties Women’s Association, who have been very vocal in the past on electoral violence and gender issues. We make this statement from a position of strength, because we have the numbers, the majority, and the capacity to neutralise and subjugate the opponents, but would not do that in the interest of our country and democracy. We would again call on all APC members, supporters and all peace-loving Sierra Leoneans to remain law-abiding and avoid all forms of violence.

If APC supporters nor go register, we nor go able for beat en dreg Maada Bio lek how we for dreg am pan de elections,” Fadika stated in Creole meaning that if the APC supporters did not register en masse during voter registration exercise, then it would be difficult to defeat Maada Bio in the manner in which Bio deserved to be beaten in the presidential elections (i.e.: by a long stretch).
