Schulenburg can't be Persona Non Grata and stay in Sierra Leone until February 9th
Schulenburg would remain on record as possibly one of the worst United Nations diplomats to ever be sent to Sierra Leone. His tenure has been plagued with scandal after scandal. If he is not physically dragging UN staff by the neck (hence the nickname HITLER), he would be mentioned in embarrassing stories of love affairs or he would be going to the U.N. to endorse apologies rendered without speaking to those who had been apologised to. I do not think it is fair to say President Ernest Koroma alone had problems with him. Many, many other Sierra Leoneans did. Despite all the U.N. cash he used to ensconce himself in Sierra Leone, it was Schulenburg himself who signed his death warrant for his diplomatic tenure in Sierra Leone. Schulenburg acted in a low-down and insensitive manner many a time. Ask the families of the 29 people executed by NPRC if Mr. Schulenburg ever made overtures to them after they bitterly complained his endorsement of Maada Bio's apology without ever speaking to them first.

Sierra Leone Update on Aziz Carew Saga & also on the Attack on Awareness Times website
SLPP, which likes to spout its gender credentials, in Unity Press newspaper for today, published that well-respected female Police Doctor, Dr. Rashida Kamara, the female medical doctor who co-signed the discharge of Aziz Carew yesterday is not professional in her medical practise because she is supposedly dating an APC Big-man. Every woman who does something in her sphere of work which goes against the grain of the SLPP is supposedly not professional because they are supposedly dating APC Bigmen. But that is the gender-sensitive SLPP for you. They insult all the women as call girls like some of them recently did on FACEBOOK. That is the SLPP's current calling card. Intimidation and Violence with a good dose of LIES on top. Even news websites are not spared their violence.

BREAKING NEWS ON FACEBOOK YESTERDAY
Aziz Carew has a short while ago been handed over to the Director of the Sierra Leone Police's Criminal Investigations Department. According to my very, very competent medical sources at Connaught Hospital, there is absolutely no reason to keep him at Connaught Hospital as, except for signs of some soft tissue sensitivity (i.e: pains) when his right shoulder was being examined, there is nothing wrong with him physically or neurologically.

This was confirmed to Awareness Times this evening by Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Alfred Karrow-Kamara. 'I am also proud of Sierra Leone, my birthplace' - A Distinguished Sierra Leonean Resigns in Canada
Awareness Times believes that strong people will always face challenges in life because their admirable strengths ensure they will be catapulted to leadership positions. Leaders always face challenges. Leaders are expected to take decisions. Some of these decisions can be good and some of them can have undesired results like the current one facing Dr. Arthur T. Porter IV in Canada. What we, as a newspaper, will like to say to Dr. Arthur T. Porter IV at this time, is that the world knows he has more than proven that he possesses strong genes and he has also exhibited strong leadership skills and good public judgment in the past. Dr. Porter, we urge you to 'hang in there'. You possess strong genes and inherited a very good name which cannot be eroded or etched off easily ...You have clearly shown that even as you hobnobbed with the topmost echelon of Canadian society, you were 'also proud of Sierra Leone, your birthplace' .

SLPP's Maada Bio announces Dr. Kadi Sesay as his Running-mate (Vice Presidential Candidate)
As first reported by Awareness Times on Tuesday November 8th 2011, the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) presidential nominee Julius Maada Bio has, during that day’s meeting of the SLPP National Executive Council (NEC), finished consultations with NEC as mandated by the SLPP Constitution. As predicted, our stated fore-runner Dr. Kadie Sesay has been announced by Maada Bio this evening over local radio, as his preferred Running-Mate and this decision has been endorsed by the NEC. Dr. Kadie Sesay is not the first female running-mate candidate in Sierra Leone as other parties like the UNPP (Haja Memunatu Conteh) and GAP (Kumba Satta Amara) had female running-mates in past elections. However, whilst she is not the first female Vice-Presidential candidate, what is indisputable is that Kadi Sesay will definitely be the strongest female candidate so far to contest for the position of Vice President of Sierra Leone. In tomorrow’s edition, we will bring you some of the views of the SLPP (Dr. Bobson Sesay), the APC (Victor Foh) and the UDM (Mohamed Bangura) on the choice of Dr. Sesay. Stay tuned right here.

Sierra Leone's WPC 8470 Daphne Victoria Taylor Speaking Live over FM98.1
Madam Daphne Victoria Taylor, the female police officer with number 8470 is currently speaking live over Radio Democracy FM98.1. She has confirmed the Awareness Times report to be quite accurate insofar as who is police officer 8470 whilst she has condemned Global Times newspaper edited by Shiekh Bawoh and published by Sorie Fofana. These two journalists recently decided to malign the Office of the President by publishing an unfounded and baseless claim that a member of the President’s bodyguards had been arrested as a suspect in an alleged assassination whilst fleeing with wife and children to Liberia. The two journalists have not only refused to apologise and retract but they have insisted that they stand by their untrue story which alleges there is a police sergeant named Sammie Bangura (alias Bomb Blast) with police number 8470 who is supposedly a close protection bodyguard to President Koroma.

SLBC Prepares to go on Strike as soon as SLPP Convention Ends
At exactly 4:50am, a decision was taken to ask all Journalists, Media representatives and Observers out of the Conference Hall so the process of counting will be done only in the presence of the 19 aspirants and their 19 assisting representatives. We will bring you the results when they are announced as we are now leaving the Conference Hall. The Live television coverage of the process on the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) has also been shut down. SLBC staff have been simply wonderful over the last four days in terms of their service to the SLPP however Awareness Times is reliably informed that as soon as the SLPP Conference ends, SLBC staff are going to down their tools and go on an immediate strike against the SLBC Management. "We are just waiting for SLPP Convention to end. As soon as it ends, we are shutting down operations!" a senior SLPP staff member told journalists a few minutes ago. Meanwhile, all the 19 aspirants have now told SLBC in live interviews that the Multiple Box system was the most perfect system for today. According to one particular aspirant who had been publicly bitterly opposed to the Multiple Box system, the voting process using Multiple Boxes was "excellent".

Dr. Sama Banya Warns of Dire Consequences if SLPP Delegates do not vote for Maada Bio
“The people on the streets out there have sent in to us here a clear message and if we ignore that message... if we ignore what is happening out there, then it means we are burying our heads in the sand,” Dr. Banya warned. In reaction, the interviewer Sheku Sumaila remarked to Sama Banya, “But Sir, most of the people who are shouting out there, as you can see for yourself, are shouting for one time military leader Julius Maada Bio”. To this, Dr. Banya stated: “I do not care who they are shouting for but what I know is that they are the ones who are going out to vote [in 2012 elections]. They are the ones who are going to be doing the campaigning. They are the ones now determined that they must have a say. If you ignore them, then you are doing harm because it is they who are out there who are going to bring us back to power!”

Horse Trading amongst SLPP Flagbearers in Sierra Leone
With the leading Flagbearer aspirants having assessed their strengths in the race via analysis of votes scored by candidates for the various National Officers positions, they have all realised that none of them can confidently boast of commanding the undiluted loyalty of the majority of the registered 597 voters (ie: at least 299 votes). As a result, there are currently serious negotiations taking place on the sidelines of the Conference to have weaker aspirants step down and publicly endorse stronger aspirants.
