36 year old Lawyer Mustapha Santigie Turay, erstwhile Vice President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association has passed away this morning in Freetown after suffering from a mysterious illness. Popularly known as 'General Spancho', Turay had only spent six years at the Bar but his six years as a lawyer was legendary to the extent that he became elected as Secretary-General of the Bar [and later as Vice President] after only 4 years at the Bar.

Former President of Sierra Leone loses his son, Ahmed Tejan Kabbah Junior
The former President of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah has confirmed to Awareness Times, the sad news of the passing away of his last child. The 37 year old late gentleman, Ahmed Tejan Kabbah (Jnr). was named after his famous father. Junior, as he was popularly known, passed away this morning at a hospital in Lagos just as he was being prepared for an emergency evacuation to London. According to the former President, who told Awareness Times that he last spoke to his son yesterday, the illness was sudden and only lasted for a few days. The body will be flown back to Sierra Leone today. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
