Public Notice
Request for Expression of Interest

The World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against hunger. WFP pursues a vision of the world in which every child, woman and man has access at all times to the food needed for an active and healthy life. In order to achieve this objective WFP procures food items, non-food items and services for its beneficiaries.

In 2008, WFP purchased up to US $ 1.4 billion of food items and US $ 395 million of non-food items and services worldwide. Similarly, WFP spent more than US $ 740 million on transport-related activities for the same period.

WFP Sierra Leone is increasingly engaging local suppliers in delivering goods and services to its operation.

In a bid to increase competition and stimulate the local market, WFP is inviting reputable and interested contractors/suppliers to register in WFP roster of suppliers for below services at WFP office in Freetown, Kenema, Port Loko, Kailahun and Magbruka.

· Maintenance and servicing of photocopy machines
· Maintenance and servicing of air conditioners
· Supply of fuel (diesel and petrol)
· Security guard service
· Maintenance and refill fire extinguishers

Interested contractor/suppliers can collect the WFP Supplier Registration Form at WFP office located at 5H Old Railway Line, Tengbeh, Freetown, on week days from Monday to Thursday between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm only.

Potential contractors/suppliers should be properly registered in accordance with the prevailing laws of this country and have the necessary professional and technical competencies and supporting documents:

A minimum of three years (3) of practical experience as an established business

Financial reports in the business name for the past three years

Trained and qualified personnel

Reference letters from previous clients

Business registration license certificate and the necessary government tax certificates

The Supplier Registration Form will provide general information about the supplier’s company/enterprise, which would be used to evaluate the supplier to register as WFP supplier/contractor. The information contained in the form will not be shared or used for any other purpose except with the written permission from the supplier.

The information provided by suppliers will be cross-checked and verified by WFP designated staff. Any information found to be false or contrary to the one stated in the form, the supplier’s application will be nullified forthwith.

Once the information provided is cross-checked and verified the supplier will be registered as WFP supplier in the area of expertise indicated on the registration form.

Registration does not imply invitation to every tender issued by WFP. Registration means that a company/enterprise is in WFP’s supplier roster for a specific commodity, goods or services. WFP reserves the right to invite only the most appropriate suppliers for a specific tender.

A registration status is not permanent. Therefore, WFP also reserve the right to remove a potential supplier from its database in the event of poor performance, non response to tenders and submitting non-competitive offers.

Duly completed and signed Supplier Registration Form must be in a sealed envelop, marked with "Supplier Registration Form" and hand-delivered to the WFP country office’s Receptionist, at the address indicated below.
