NATCOM Hosts Africa Rural Connectivity Confab
Reports have it that the National Telecommunication Commission (NATCOM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Communication will be holding a Commonwealth Africa Rural Connectivity Initiative (COMARCI) capacity workshop in Makeni. President Ernest Bai Koroma, cabinet ministers, parliamentarians, traditional rulers and other important stakeholders are expected to attend the two-day workshop. According to reports, the workshop aims at facilitating the design and sustainable implementation of innovation solutions and communication among others.
Guma Warns Against Pipe Cuttings
Guma Valley Water Company and the Sierra Leone Police have reportedly stepped up pressure on members of the public who are engaged in the unlawful cutting of water pipes. According to reports, the cutting of pipes in the city has resulted into considerable water wastage. The two entities have reportedly warned that anyone caught on such acts would be prosecuted.
ACC to Pay for Failing to Produce Witness
High Court Judge Mary Sei has reportedly ordered the Prosecution Team of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) to pay the sum of Le250,000 to the Defence Team of Adrian Fisher for failing to produce Monfred Sesay to testify in the matter of Adrian Fisher versus State. According to reports, the prosecution failed to present Monfred Sesay for testimony nine day after the court orders it to do so.
National Deaf Team Returns Home
Sierra Leone National Deaf Team has reportedly returned home after a successful tour of the Gambia. According to reports, the team engaged their counterparts, Deaf Scorpions, in a friendly match. Reports say the match was very exciting as it brought so many Sierra Leoneans and Gambians together.
Health Ministry Shuts Down 18 Water Companies
The Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation has ordered the closure of eighteen water producing companies in the western area. According to reports, Mr. Mohamed D. Koroma took this decision as a result of the failure of the said companies to abide by sanitary laws in the process of packaging the water.

The Business Development Manager of ECOWATER, Mr. George Labor, has reportedly disclosed that his Sea Taxi will soon offer new services to Sierra Leoneans. According to reports, the company will be providing reliable and affordable services along the sea line of the country.
