African Minerals (SL) Limited requires the services of a Travel Coordinator for it in-country operations.
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Travel Coordinator with be responsible for tracking all AML’s international travellers arriving and departing Sierra Leone. The Travel Coordinator will receive and answer correspondence from international travel agencies and conduct all necessary tickets, visa, accommodation and transfer requirements and checks to ensure that AML travellers are safely managed on their entry into the country and on their departure out of the country.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure travellers visas are obtained and sent to them before their travel
· Ensure that travellers visas are up-to-date at all times during their stay in Sierra Leone
· Book tickets for travellers when necessary
· Make accommodation bookings and send confirmation
· Make transfer arrangement for either helicopter, boat taxis etc
· Work in the operations room with operations staff to ensure all transfers are conducted safely and in accordance with existing company policy
· Book cars and other means of travel as required
· Work with the airport meet and greet team
· Keep track of all travellers coming into country and also those departing the country
· Liaise with AML Overseas office on all travel issues
· Send confirmation of all travel arrangement to AML Overseas office
· Deal with any accommodation and travel issues that travellers may have as they arise
· Maintain good liaison and business relationship with key hotels, accommodation centres, travel agencies, airport authority and other stakeholders
· Keep relevant AML managers informed of any problems that will lead to travel delay including flight cancellation or any unforeseen problems
· Prepare weekly travel report for circulation to relevant managers and AML’s Overseas office
EXPECTED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
· Have similar experience in travel, booking or mining industry
· Good excel, word or database skills
· Good English writing and speech skills
· Ability to correspond effectively by email
· Excellent telephone communication skills
· Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
· Supervise sectional employees and ensure they comply with all company rules and policies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
· Diploma, Degree or Equivalent Qualification in travel & tourism, communication or any business related course.
· At least two years experience in a similar field.
