Supreme Court Justice Maitland Emeric Tolla-Thompson does not seem to be lacking in the ability to become embroiled in incidents that drag the reputation of the esteemed Judiciary through the mud. If he is not granting interviews to local tabloids in which he is reported as telling big fat lies, he will somehow manage to get mentioned in unsavoury sagas. The latest in which his name has been mentioned is with an impersonation to mislead the reading world.
Manager of the Cockle Bay Guesthouse, Mr. Dennis Collier has yesterday told Awareness Times that no holidaymaker by the name of Dominic Cole is staying there. This follows an article published yesterday against the Publisher of this newspaper that clearly implies an allegation that Publisher Sylvia Blyden once went to Justice Tolla Thompson and asked him to change a judgment in her favour and when he refused to do so, she turned her pen against him in the Awareness Times. The purported author of that allegation claims to be a holidaymaker staying at the Cockle Bay Guesthouse.
“We do not even have any holidaymaker staying here or using our premises let alone a Dominic Cole. I do not know any Dominic Cole. Whoever published that article claiming our guesthouse as his correspondence address is a prankster and that newspaper, following the ethics of accuracy, should have first cross-checked with us before publishing our name worldwide,” the Guesthouse Manager stated in a displeased mood.
Meanwhile, Sylvia Blyden has stated that the said Judgment cited twice now by the same newspaper was delivered in May 2009 but contrary to the publication, that had not stopped her from giving “very good coverage to Justice Tolla Thompson even as recently as when the Bail Policy was enacted just a few weeks ago”.
“Justice Tolla Thompson keeps on making mention of the Judgment he gave against me back in May 2009 but this is simply a shameful red herring tactic to deflect from our fearless coverage of his despicable treatment of Mrs. Manjia Balema-Samba which occurred in October 2009 and which we have been publicising alongside his other ill-suitability as a close aide and adviser of the Honourable Chief Justice,” Sylvia Blyden informed.
“May 2009 judgment, May 2009 judgment, May 2009 judgment is all he keeps on referring to as if that is what is of interest to people right now. Let him start referring to his now well publicised October 13th 2009 undue Opening of the Chief Justice’s Letter and let him defend the deteriorating state of the Magisterial Justice system under his supposed supervision. That May judgment was for a mere seven hundred thousand leones only ($200) but this is what he is now using as a red herring to turn attention away from his undermining of the administration of the current Chief Justice,” Sylvia Blyden said.
She continued further: “First of all, contrary to the Tolla Thompson interview report, the judgment was not against my newspaper as the said parasite of a litigant in question never worked at my newspaper but had been on a three-months, fixed-term contract at my other Internet business. Justice Thompson gave that minor, insignificant trade dispute judgment against my Internet businesshouse way back in May. Since May to date, I have given Justice Tolla Thompson so much good coverage in my newspaper which shows I had no bad will towards him for that May 2009 judgment so why is he now lying because I am doing my job to champion the plight of poor Manjia Balema-Samba?” Blyden pondered.
“When the Chief Justice travelled out of the country with the Consultant Master in August, let Justice Tolla Thompson state whether or not I was very supportive of him. Was that not in August, several months after his May 2009 judgment? Why is it that now in November after Manjia’s issue caused me to probe him more deeply and find out his ill-suitability for purpose, that he is now suddenly telling everyone about a very insignificant judgment he gave way way back in May this year?” Sylvia Blyden pondered.
The Publisher then gave opinion on the errant Supreme Court Justice who decided to engage in a Press War with her rather than explain where Manjia’s letter for the Chief Justice could be.
“In my opinion, Justice Maitland Emeric Tolla Thompson is sly, crafty, tells big fat lies, is selfish, thinks only about his own image, cares nothing about the image of the Chief Justice or the larger Judiciary’s image, is physically infirm, highly suspected to be mentally infirm and as a result of all the above, in my opinion, Justice Maitland Emeric Tolla Thompson is totally unfit for the Bench and needs to be removed from there as he is just like a Behemoth acting in a manner that imputes Senility. His continued presence as a trusted aide to the Chief Justice will affect chances of this country moving away from the rotten state of justice created by decades of mal-administration by the likes of the very same Tolla Thompson,” Blyden said.
Meanwhile, Awareness Times has learnt that Dr. Sylvia Blyden is seeking legal advise on her plans to drag Justice Tolla Thompson to Court for criminal libel and/or seek civil compensation over his defamatory comments made against her in a tabloid. She is also seeking legal advise against the daughter of Justice Tolla Thompson who reportedly emulated her Daddy by allegedly telling “big fat whopping lies” to a gathering of curious women that the reason why Awareness Times was exposing her Daddy’s judicial shenanigans was because he gave a judgment against Sylvia Blyden. She failed to inform of the time or nature of the said judgment which would have made the women in her audience better understand the futility of her red herring claims.
“Both the Daddy Tolla Thompson and his errant lying Daughter Tolla Thompson should be dragged to Court to justify their lies against Sylvia Blyden,” Mr. Clarence Kamara, a retired schoolteacher told this presshouse yesterday when he visited to express sympathy with the alleged gimmicks undertaken by Justice Tolla Thompson’s court to embarrass this newspaper’s Publisher with un-served Judgment Debtors’ Summons and Fifae Order over a mere seven hundred thousand leones judgment that had been long appealed against but which was recently brought to the fore of the Manjia Balema-Samba saga via press interviews. The reason being to send attention to an old, old May 2009 judgment and thus distract attention away from the current peculiarities of the shameful manner Mrs. Balema-Samba was treated by Justice Tolla Thompson and ilk.
“Pa Tolla’s talking and talking about that May 2009 judgment of $200 is just a red herring distraction employed by a crafty old man to detract from his October 2009 errors,” said an experienced Court Clerk who has been following the Manjia Balema-Samba saga with rapt attention.
