Police Wage War on Drivers & Riders
Reports have alleged that the Sierra Leone Police have waged war on undisciplined drivers and motor bike riders. According to reports, many lawless drivers and commercial bike riders have been arrested for various offences, ranging from dangerous driving without licenses, using of unauthorized routes and riding without using helmets in Freetown.
Polio Campaign Kicks Off
Polio, measles and yellow fever vaccination have reportedly started in five (5) districts in Sierra Leone. According to reports, all children between the ages of 0-5 years are going to be vaccinated.
Kono Receives Huge quality of Drugs
Reports have disclosed that a large quantity of medical drugs have been supplied to the Kono District. According to reports, the supplied drugs would augment and facilitate the health care delivery of the fourteen (14) chiefdoms and would last for at least several months.
WIMSAL Celebrates 2nd Anniversary
Reports say Women in the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL) have started their two years anniversary with a series of activities in the country. According to reports, WIMSAL recently held a symposium on the theme: "The strength of women journalists in Sierra Leone" at SLAJ Secretariat in Freetown. Reports say many other things including unity, hard work and professionalism were discussed.
ENCISS Meets Stakeholders in Makeni
Local tabloids say a non governmental organization, ENCISS, had held a day’s group discussion with stakeholders in Makeni. The program was reportedly held on the theme: Agenda for Change under the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSPII). The main purpose of the discussion was to enlighten the stakeholders to work together with government and other groups for a greater equity in resource allocation.
PMDC Nails APC for CG Conference
The National Chairman of the People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC), Mohamed Bangura, recently disclosed that his party was disappointed and frustrated over the APC for not including their party in the delegation of the Consultative Group Conference. According to the Chairman, they were told that the two opposition parties were going to be including but their own party was left out.
