Erstwhile Vice President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association, who passed away on Saturday 7th November 2009, has been laid to rest at the Regent Road Cemetery, Lumley in Freetown, after a befitting funeral service.
Throngs of sympathizers, associates, family members, friends and loved ones on Sunday 15th November 2009 stormed the Lumley vicinity to pay their last respects to the falling Lawyer, Mustapha Santigie Turay aka General Spancho.

The corpse was escorted by thousands of people amidst weeping and mourning until it was finally laid to rest.
The procession was led by members of the Librals and Sigma Clubs of the Fourah Bay College (FBC), followed by a battery of senior members of the Sierra Leone Judiciary, present and past government functionaries, and members of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), among others.

Earlier on Saturday 14th November 2009, a laying out ceremony of the late lawyer’s corpse was held at the Lamina Sankoh Street Secretariat of the Sierra Leone Bar Association, which was followed by a funeral service at the Flammings Evangelical Ministries Church in Freetown.
Sunday November 15, laying out ceremonies were held at the late man’s residence at Babadorie in Lumley and at his family house at Regent Road, before taken to the Fullah Mosque for Muslim prayers. From the mosque, the corpse was escorted amidst crying to the cemetery.
Members of the Sierra Leone Bar Association were spotted shedding endless tears whilst the corpse was being laid to rest.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
